Eigentlich sind gerade Elixir-Saiten bekannt für ihre Beschichtung, die sie länger haltbar macht und auch die Nebengeräusche reduziert. Allerdings gibts davon zwei Varianten: Nanoweb (heute verbreiteter, Greifgeräusche werden nicht ganz so stark reduziert) und Polyweb (sehr glatt beschichtet).

Inzwischen gibts sowas von den meisten Saitenherstellern.
